A Demon You Cannot Kill, Hunted by the One Man Who Has
Locke, the Ashen Exorcist, hunts demons for a living, and he has hunted this one before. He is a Demacian occultist who pins demons to the ground with nail-seals, and his very first story is a fight with the demon this raid is built around.
"A nail-slinging exorcist versed in forbidden rites, Corvin Locke is the progeny of Demacian occultists. Born into lies and hypocrisy, he learned young that demons aren't the cause of humanity's darkness, but the consequence."
So a raid led by Locke against
Evelynn is not a stretch. It is canon with the budget turned up. Here he is, in his own bio, doing in a back alley exactly what a raid would do at the scale of a city block:
"Before she could recover, Locke threw a fan of three nails at her feet. As soon as the nails hit the soil, deep indigo lines blazed between them, forming a triangular seal. Evelynn's face contorted as the binding seized her."
Her official cinematic is the mood board: a beautiful lie wrapped around a thing that peels people apart for pleasure. This is the boss.
The Boss at a Glance
Evelynn, Agony's Embrace
Demon boss of the Garden of Agony
You do not kill a demon. You take away what it feeds on, you pin it in the world with petricite, and you send it home.
What a Demon Is, and Why You Cannot Kill One
The whole raid hangs on one rule, so it is worth getting right. A demon in Runeterra is not a monster you can stab to death. It is an immortal spirit that was born from an emotion and lives by feeding on it. Evelynn's own biography is the cleanest statement of it:
"It became a demon, a ravenous spiritual parasite that fed on the basest of human emotions."
That is what she is, and
Evelynn is the lure that goes with it:
"She lures in prey with the voluptuous façade of a human female, but once a person succumbs to her charms, Evelynn's true form is unleashed. She then subjects her victim to unspeakable torment, gratifying herself with their pain."
So how do you beat a thing that cannot die? You do not out-damage it. You take three steps, and every one is in the lore. One, starve it. Denied the pain it feeds on, a demon withers and retreats. Two, pin it. Petricite holds a magical spirit in the physical world (next section). Three, cage or banish it. Petricite, the stone Durand forged to imprison demons, can seal her away; or the opposing force can send her back to the spirit realm. The demon Nocturne's card states the second route outright:
"It appears that, once enough souls have been shaken, it breaches our world. Only hope can send the monstrosity back to its realm..."
That is your kill shot, in lore terms. Not a corpse. A cage, or a banishment.
Why Petricite, and Why You Craft It
Here is the cruel irony the raid is built on. Demacia is the kingdom that thought it had solved demons. It raised its walls out of petricite, the white stone that drinks magic:
"the riddle of petricite—a peculiar white stone that dampens magical energy"
The stone works. Galio's biography, the best petricite source in the game, spells out exactly how:
"It seemed the fossilized trees were a natural magic-dampener, and any sorcery used within them would simply fail."
And the Mageseekers turned that property into a leash. Sylas spent years in it:
"He languished in the darkest depths of the mageseeker compound, forced to wear heavy shackles of magic-dampening petricite."
And here is the part that turns this from a clever idea into canon. Petricite is not just anti-magic, it is the original demon-stone. The architect Durand forged the very first petricite chains to cage demons, long before the Mageseekers ever turned them on mages:
"Created by Durand, the petricite restraints and chains were originally created to suppress and imprison Demons."
So a raid that mines petricite from the town's ruined walls and Mageseeker stores and forges it into seals, wards, and chains to take Evelynn is not improvising. It is using the exact tool Demacia built for this exact enemy. The cards spell out how the stone behaves.

Petricite Pillar
The mechanic"Mageseekers place towering petricite obelisks throughout their compounds, ensuring that even the strongest mages are rendered completely powerless."
Why you craft it: Hard proof in the card text: petricite obelisks render even the strongest mages completely powerless. Raise them around the arena and Evelynn's magic, her stealth and her charm, begins to fail. This is the lever the whole fight turns on.

Purify (the Graymark)
The ward"Your petricite Graymark is your primary safeguard against magic, a symbol of our responsibilities, and a reminder to others of our authority. Honor it above all else."
Why you craft it: Every Demacian Mageseeker carries a petricite Graymark against magic. In the raid it is the worn talisman that breaks her charm, the thing that stops her from walking your tank into her arms.

Petricite Charger
The weapon"Nothing is stronger than petricite."
Why you craft it: Petricite as a weapon, not just a wall. Said by the Durand school that first shaped the stone into chains. This is the crafted gear the party forges: petricite blades and seals to nail a spirit into the physical world, the way Locke nails Evelynn in his own story.
The Garden of Agony
The raid is not set in some far wasteland. It is set inside Demacia, in a town that did everything right and still lost. Evelynn slipped past the petricite walls built to keep her kind out, and she has spent months turning the place into a garden. Her short story calls it that on purpose: she tends her victims like flowers and cuts down the tallest, happiest one.
So picture a beautiful Demacian town with the light gone wrong. Candlelit windows with nothing alive behind them. Petricite obelisks cracked and humming. A square where the townsfolk still stand and smile, hollowed into Husks. That is the Garden of Agony, and
Evelynn is somewhere in its shadows, because her endgame is bigger than one town:
"She yearns for the day she can plunge the world into utter chaos, and she can return to an existence of pure, rapturous ecstasy."
From the town square the raid pushes out through the manor and down into the old Mageseeker vaults beneath, where the petricite is mined and the worst of her garden grows.
Locke leads, because the official answer (walls and mageseeker purges) already failed here. You do not need more stone. You need the exorcist who actually binds them.
The Three Phases
You enter her garden and she is nowhere. Out of combat Evelynn is invisible (Demon Shade), so the first phase is not a fight, it is a hunt. The raid raises petricite braziers and seals to drag her into the light, room by room, while her charm tries to peel one of you off into the dark.
What you fight: her garden's dead. Haunted Husks shambling between the flowerbeds, and Shackled Ghasts begging for the oblivion you are about to bring them (see the Bestiary).
Cornered and lit, Evelynn stops hiding and lets her retinue out to play. This is the damage phase, fought in the open square with her bound demons loose. Her Lashers cleave the melee, and she warps around the arena spending your raiders like cut flowers.
Watch for: Last Caress. She goes untargetable, decimates the cone in front of her, and warps clear across the garden. Clear the cone, then find her fast before she feeds.
You have starved her and pinned her, and she still will not die, because she cannot. So the last phase is not a kill, it is a cage. With Evelynn bound and worn down by petricite, the party locks her into the chains Demacia first forged for her kind, while light and morale break her hold on the garden.
The stakes: her bio says she dreams of plunging the world into chaos. Seal her here and you buy Runeterra one more quiet season. You do not get a corpse. You get her gone.
How Evelynn Fights
Every mechanic above is her real League kit, read as a boss fight.
P Demon Shade
Out of combat she turns invisible and heals. The boss vanishes between her strikes, so the raid has to light the arena with petricite and wards to force her into view. It is her hunt made mechanical: she stalks from the shadows, and you take the shadows away.
Q Hate Spike
Her Lasher strikes the nearest raider, then fans spikes into everyone close. A frontal Lasher cleave, the melee-range check that punishes a stacked group.
W Allure
She curses a target, then charms them and shreds their magic resist. Your own tank walks into her arms. A mind-control add-phase lifted straight from how she lures prey, and the reason a petricite Graymark is required gear.
E Whiplash
A Lasher whip that speeds her up. Her gap-closer between victims, the move that keeps her sliding around the garden and out of your seals.
R Last Caress
She goes briefly untargetable, decimates the cone in front of her, and warps far backward. Her execute and her escape in one button, the telegraphed one-shot the raid reads and dodges every cast.
The Bestiary, and Why Each Belongs
Evelynn does not fight alone, and the proof is on her own card: she keeps a retinue of lesser demons she chose to bind rather than kill, and her drained victims rise as Husks. Every creature here is a real Legends of Runeterra card, quoted and linked, with a reason to be in this garden.

Steem
Mini-boss"After finally overpowering Steem, Evelynn chose then not to destroy the lesser demon, but to bind him to her forever."
Why it is in the raid: Her right hand. The card tells how she beat this lesser demon and kept him instead of destroying him, because he loves butchery as much as she does. In the raid he is the bound demon she lets out first when the pressure builds, the mini-boss who fights like a smaller, meaner her.

Vora
Mini-boss"Rather than a predator who stalks her food, she is a wild beast who must be fed."
Why it is in the raid: A demon of mindless hunger, drawn to a garden this full of suffering. She does not scheme or lure, she simply must be fed, and your raid is the meal. The Husks are what she leaves behind, which ties her straight into the trash that floods the arena.

Haunted Husk
Trash"Figured you were Vora's type..."
Why it is in the raid: Not a monster, a victim. A Husk is what is left of a soul Evelynn drained, reanimated to shamble at intruders. Every one your raid cuts down was a townsperson she cultivated, which is the quiet horror the whole encounter is built on.

Shackled Ghasts
Trash"It was long ago that we were chained. Soon you too will know our suffering, and we will all suffer, forever and ever, until we are granted oblivion at Master's hand..."
Why it is in the raid: Chained, tormented spirits begging for the oblivion you are about to give them. They are the garden's ambient dead, and they double as a theme cue: this whole place runs on chains and seals, the same magic your petricite gear turns against its mistress.

Nocturne
Kindred demon"It appears that, once enough souls have been shaken, it breaches our world. Only hope can send the monstrosity back to its realm..."
Why it is in the raid: A second great demon, the Eternal Nightmare, drawn to a place this thick with fear. Fight him and you learn the rule that wins the raid: only hope sends a demon home. His card is where that law is written down.

Fiddlesticks
Kindred demon"what I encountered in the woods that day was no myth—it was the living embodiment of fear itself."
Why it is in the raid: The oldest fear there is, and note who names it on the card: a Demacian demonologist, the same tradition Locke comes from. A garden of agony is a feast for the embodiment of fear, so it comes to share the table, an optional terror lurking the deepest vaults.
Your Party
You asked who else could help. Locke leads, but a demon this old needs a party built for exactly one job: bind the magic, then banish the spirit. Here is the roster the canon points to.
Where It Sits in History
This raid sits on the oldest argument in Demacia: can you wall out a demon? Here is the thread it lands on.
The Rune Wars
Demons are born
Runeterra's magical cataclysm. From all that suffering, spirit-parasites wake and feed. Evelynn is one of them.
After the Wars
Demacia raises its walls
A kingdom founded on petricite, the white stone that dampens magic, built to keep demons and mages out.
The Mageseekers
Petricite as a leash
Demacia forges the stone into shackles and obelisks that render even the strongest mages powerless.
Now
A demon inside the walls
Evelynn feeds inside the one place that thought itself safe. The walls were never enough.
Unannounced
The Riot MMO
Where a demon hunt like this could one day live. Nothing is confirmed.
Would You Run It?
A petricite demon hunt against Evelynn, led by Locke. Day one, are you in?
One more time, plainly: Riot has announced no class, no zone, and no raid for its MMO. This is a fan design built on sourced canon. The petricite-against-demons premise is canon, not invention; the liberty is the raid itself. Lore quoted from the biographies of Locke, Evelynn, Galio, and Sylas, the Demacia region page, the official Petricite lore, and the Legends of Runeterra cards linked throughout.
