League Classic Voters Pick the Next Old Kit. Riot's first poll revived three items and added modern jungle timers; the second asks if Urgot, Udyr or three others get their old kits back.

What Happened

League Classic players are voting on which old champion kit Riot brings back next, and their first vote already changed the mode.

League Classic is Riot's mode that runs League of Legends the way it played around 2013, next to the live game (our launch coverage). The Council, the mode's in-client voting tab, opened its second poll with patch 26.19.

The second poll

• Open until September 30. The poll runs in the game client through September 30, 2026.
• Level 5 to vote. The Council unlocks at Classic Level 5, and each point of voting power is one vote per question.
• Two kinds of question. Riot's /dev post splits them into Sentiment questions, which find areas to investigate, and Binding questions, used "to make the call on an approach."
• Five old kits. Question six asks which champion with a drastically different old kit comes back next: Sejuani, Xerath, Udyr, Volibear or Urgot.
• Three Baron buffs. Players pick the older champions-only buff, the current one that also empowers cannon minions, or a later one that empowers all nearby lane minions.
• Gold on the ballot. The rest ask about rune unlock time, overall gold gain, support gold gain, and whether Classic needs dedicated support gold items.

What the first poll decided

• Three items back. Reviving all three proposed items won 60.67%; Zz'Rot Portal alone took 16.16% and none 14.32%.
• Modern timers won. Always-visible jungle timers took 45.74%, scoreboard-only timers 23.46%, and keeping the old minimap 30.79%.
• Base gates stay. Keeping them won 55.03% to 44.97%.
• Pacing holds. 52.80% called game length "about right," and 69.72% liked ward trinkets.
• Turtle and Duck. The river critters will be a Turtle top side and a Duck bottom side, at 52.09%.
• Patch 26.19 delivered. Cloak and Dagger, Moonflair Spellblade and Zz'Rot Portal are back, alongside the pre-rework kits for Graves, Fizz, Nami and Nautilus.

Poll one ran August 26 to September 2, and Riot posted every percentage in the patch 26.18 notes. One patch later, the winning items were in the game.

What This Means for the Riot MMO

League Classic is Riot testing, in public, the question its MMO has to answer: how much of the old game to keep, and who decides.

• Binding votes exist. Riot now runs an in-client system where player votes make design calls, a tool an MMO's live service could reuse.
• Convenience beat nostalgia. Players who opted into a nostalgia mode still chose modern jungle timers over the old minimap, 69% to 31%.
• Economy on the ballot. Poll two asks players about gold gain and support income, the systems an MMO's pacing rests on.
• Purists win narrowly. Base gates survived 55 to 45, so the "keep it classic" camp can carry a vote, but barely.
• Every number published. Riot prints full results in patch notes, a transparency bar the MMO's players will expect.

This audience has moved Riot before: it priced Classic's retro models at 500 RP, then made all 60 free three days later. MMO fans are already having the timer argument over the group finder button.

Our read. Give players the vote on kits and Baron buffs; keep the economy with the designers. Gold gain sets how long everything in an MMO takes, and a 55-45 split is not a mandate to set it. The Council works because Classic is a side mode. Riot has not said whether its MMO will have anything like it.
