The Kindred observe a festival in their honor during the thousandth Kindred Eve celebration on Witch-Tree Rock. They agree to watch without poetry or hunting. Revelers from across regions gather in Bilgewater on the final Wolf Moon, don costumes, and sail to the island. A narrator greets them with "the story of the Pale Rider that split himself in two," revealing a dual costume. The festivities include eating, dancing, shops, contests, and betting.
