Senna woke with a gasp, her breath pluming in the frigid night. The narrative follows Senna awakening with an urgent instinct to reach Bilgewater . Despite wanting to rest with Lucian after years of separation, she feels compelled to leave. During their journey, Senna is struck by dark lightning and finds herself back in what appears to be Thresh 's lantern—a spectral prison. Within this realm, Senna encounters a mysterious spirit who reveals itself as having protected her since childhood.
