Xerath: Champion Spotlight
Overview The Xerath Champion Spotlight is an official gameplay preview for League of Legends, released in October 2011. The spotlight introduces the Magus Ascendant, an ancient Shuriman mage who transcended mortality through treachery. The Champion Xerath was born a slave in ancient Shurima — a boy with extraordinary magical talent who was forced to serve the future Emperor Azir . Despite their vastly different stations, the two formed a genuine friendship, with Azir secretly promising to free all slaves when he took the throne. But Xerath's patience had limits.
