Overview Sylas : The Unshackled is an official cinematic from League of Legends, released in January 2019. The cinematic features Sylas and introduces him as a revolutionary who seeks to overthrow Demacia 's mage-oppressing government. The Story Sylas's reveal cinematic is one of League's most politically charged pieces of storytelling. In under two minutes, it establishes a character who threatens to tear Demacia apart from within — not through external invasion like Noxus , but through internal revolution. Sylas was born with the ability to sense and absorb the magic of others.
