Ruination is the first full-length novel set in the League of Legends universe, written by Riot narrative writer Anthony Reynolds and published by Orbit (released September 6, 2022 in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook). It follows the warrior Kalista as she quests for the Blessed Isles to cure the poisoned Queen Isolde and pull her uncle, King Viego of Camavor, back from grief-driven madness — chronicling the catastrophe that destroys the capital Helia and gives rise to the Shadow Isles, largely through Kalista, the warden Erlok Grael (the future Thresh), and Ryze. A tie-in to the Ruined King game and Sentinels of Light event.
