About RuneGrove

RuneGrove is a record of Runeterra — the world Riot Games has confirmed it is building an MMO in. Every region, faction, creature, location and story Riot has published about that world, gathered into one dated, cross-referenced archive, alongside daily coverage of six Riot titles and the unannounced MMO.

Riot has spent more than fifteen years publishing this world in pieces: across a retired universe site, patch notes, comics, cinematics, card sets and developer blogs. It had never been assembled as a single dated record with each claim traced to its source. That is the gap RuneGrove exists to close.

Our Mission

To be the most complete and most carefully sourced record of Runeterra available anywhere, and to be accurate about what we do and do not know. Codex entries carry the source their claims rest on. Where something is inferred rather than stated, it says so. Where we get something wrong, we correct it in place and say what changed.

The Team

Entgrove founded RuneGrove in 2025 and is its editor and developer. RuneGrove is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc. All game content, trademarks, and intellectual property belong to their respective owners. Our editorial decisions are made independently.

How It's Made

The codex is built from primary material — Riot's own publications, in-game text, card text, cinematics and developer communications — and each entry records the source its claims rest on. Some reference data is compiled from community wikis rather than from Riot directly; the voice-line corpus is the largest example.

Relationships between entries — which champion belongs to which region, which story a location appears in, which faction a character serves — are resolved when a piece enters the archive rather than guessed at read time, so a reader and a crawler see the same connections.

Parts of our production pipeline are automated, and pieces produced that way are disclosed. Automation does not transfer editorial responsibility. Our full sourcing, disclosure and correction policies are on our editorial standards page.
